Soapbox Ninja is a network of topics and categories run by you, the Soapbox Ninja users. Through this network, you can create topics, comment, vote, discuss, learn, debate, support and connect with people who share your interests.

While not every topic may be for you (and you may find some unrelatable or even offensive), no topic should be used as a weapon. Topics should create a sense of belonging for their members, not try to diminish it for others. Likewise, everyone on Soapbox Ninja should have an expectation of privacy and safety, so please respect the privacy and safety of others.

Topics are only what we make of them together, and can only exist if we operate by a shared set of rules. We ask that you abide by not just the letter of these rules, but the spirit as well.

Rules

1. No spam

We define spam as repeated, unwanted, and/or unsolicited actions, whether automated or manual, that negatively affect our users and/or Soapbox Ninja itself.

The following are examples of behavior that may be considered spam and are subject to removal/suspension:

• Sending large amounts of private messages to users who are not expecting them.
• Repeatedly posting the same or similar comments under  topic.
• Repeatedly posting unrelated/off-topic/link-farmed content.
• Linking to harmful third-party content, such as malware, phishing, deceptive pop-ups, etc.
• Programming bots that harm/break Soapbox Ninja, including bots intended to promote content/products/services.
• Manipulate voting  or asking people to vote up or down.

2. No harassment and hate speech

Harassment on Soapbox Ninja is defined as systematic and/or continued actions to torment or demean someone in a way that would make a reasonable person conclude that Soapbox Ninja is not a safe platform to express their ideas or participate in the discussion, or fear for their safety or the safety of those around them. Heated debates, disagreements, annoying users and vote brigading are expected, but please be civil, respectful and considerate to other users.

Soapbox Ninja does not tolerate content that attacks or disparages an individual or group based on race, gender, religion, nationality, ethnicity, political group, sexual orientation or another similar characteristic. Any generalizations about these topics should be phrased as neutrally as possible.

3. No personal and confidential information.

Do not  post someone’s personal information or post links to personal information. This includes links to public social media pages, credit card numbers, national identification numbers or other people’s account passwords. When posting screenshots, be sure to edit out any personally identifiable information. Public figures can be an exception to this rule, such as posting professional links to contact a congressman or the CEO of a company

4. No NSFW content:

Content that contains nudity, pornography, or profanity, which a reasonable viewer may not want to be seen accessing in a public or formal setting such as in a workplace are forbidden. Do not upload or share the content that children exploit or abuse. This includes child sexual abuse imagery, child pornography, and any other content, including fantasy content (e.g. stories, “loli”/anime cartoons), that depictsencourages or promotes pedophilia, child sexual exploitation, or otherwise sexualizes minors or someone who appears to be a minor. Depending on the context, this can in some cases include depictions of minors that are fully clothed and not engaged in overtly sexual acts.

5. No encouragement of violence

Do not post content that encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence or physical harm against an individual or a group of people; likewise, do not post content that glorifies or encourages the abuse of animals. 

6. No intellectual property

Before sharing content on Soapbox Ninja, please be sure you have the right to do so. We ask that you respect other people’s copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights. If you think content on Soapbox Ninja violates your intellectual property, please file a complaint on .

7. No illegal activities

Do not contribute viruses, malware, and other malicious programs or engage in activity that harms or interferes with the operation of Soapbox Ninja or seeks to circumvent security or authentication measures. Do not use Soapbox Ninja to engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity, or to promote illegal acts. We do not allow users to impersonate someone in a misleading or deceptive manner. Reporting Content

If you notice something on Soapbox Ninja that you believe violates our policies, please report it with the Report feature assigned to the content that you are reporting.

The consequences for violating our Community Standards vary depending on the severity of the violation and a person’s history on the platform. For instance, we may warn someone for a first violation and delete content, but if they continue to violate our policies, we may delete their account.
