Are crypto ICOs dead?

Were they ever a thing?😁 Cuz they werent for me. I invested once and than the coin didnt get listed on any of the mayor exchanges. There have also been many scams so i think the traders are more cautious and sticking to coins that are already listed on mayor exchanges 😁
